Adopting At Pets on Broadway

We’re so excited that you are interested in adopting your new family member with us!

We will walk you through your journey and be with you every step of the way.

Requirements To Adopt at Pets on Broadway:

  • You must be over the age of 18. If you’re under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • You’ll need to have a Pets on Broadway rewards account. If you don’t already have one, we can make one for you at the time of adoption.

Information About The Adoptable Cats & Bunnies from MCAS (Multnomah County Animal Services):

  • Our cats & bunnies go through a one-week Observation Period when they arrive before they are ready to be adopted. During this Observation Period (OP), they cannot be handled, touched, played with, or adopted. The OP may be extended if they show signs of illness or injury.
  • Our cats & bunnies have been spayed or neutered at MCAS before coming to POB.
  • Our cats & bunnies have had full health screenings at MCAS including:
    • Flea treatment & deworming
    • Microchip
    • All Necessary Vaccines:
      • Rabies Vaccine for cats
      • RVHD (Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease) for bunnies

The Adoption Process - What To Expect:

  • Adoption hours are from 10 am to 7 pm every day of the week and are not able to be adopted outside of this time.
  • The adoption process can take approximately 45 minutes, but we recommend allowing extra time for questions.
  • Cats & bunnies are adopted on a “first come, first serve” basis. Once you meet a cat or bunny, you can put a 24-hour hold on them while you consider. Don’t rush this big decision!
  1. Once you are ready to adopt, you’ll fill out an adoption application as well as an adoption contract.
  2. Once the paperwork has been filled out, a staff member can answer all of your questions and help you find supplies you may need for your new family member.
  3. We provide all new cat parents with a free bag of World’s Best Cat Litter, a case of Nulo wet food (3oz case, 24 cans), and a cardboard carrier to transport your new friend home.
